Branding

The main branding task was set to another member of the group so I just pitched in a few ideas in an effort to keep the logo and brand style consistent, unfortunately, the only branding designs that stayed consistent with the logo were the ones that I produced.

The Final Logo

So for the final logo design we settled on a font called "brain flower" that everyone was happy with and I think it suits the style of the logo very well.

Came down to 2 designs

In the end we had chosen from my designs the illustrating and colour scheme we were happy to go with, but had mixed feelings between two fonts

We discussed as a group which font to use and although most of the group wanted to use the right hand one, we decided to make it easier to use a completely different font we hadn't considered yet, as a compromise to keep all group members happy.

Logo development

The first thing i thought of when i heard the name Illumination was a lightbulb, so thats where i started with my designs. I tried out black backgrounds with bright text because i thought the text would seem to be illuminating the page but i didn't like hoow dull it looked so i moved on to using pastel colours and wee hand drawn sketches of lightbulbs as i thought the "doodle" look would go welll with our company.

Illoomination

Five members to our group project: Myself, Andrea, Charmaine, Geoffry and Mirco.
My part was to design the logo and have an input in branding, for the group business "Illumination" When researching the name we discovered that we couldn't use it because of another established business so I came up with changing it to "Illoomination" which we switched to using.
Illoomination is an illustration and animation company, that gathers business from larger companies outsourcing overflow work to us. It also takes on its own clients from the off aswell.

These are the first designs i worked on, most of them using the title Illumination as i had started work before we found out we had to do a name change.

These are the initial sketches i completed for the logo design, all based around a ligtbulb as thats what i first thought of when i heard the name Illumination, i also worked on some cartoony, doodle fonts to use aswell.
